This is gonna be a list of the most BASIC commands for Ubuntu and Debian, plus some others that are compatible with most Linux-based distributions. Some are Ubuntu/Debian specific.
Superuser commands:
sudo: run command as su
su: superuser, duh smile.png

Directory Commands:
cd: change directory 
mkdir: creates a new directory
ls: lists directory contents

APT-get commands:
apt-get install (packagename) : installs the package.
apt-get remove (packagename) : removes the package.
apt-get update: updates the DB

reboot: does what it says
exit : closes session
