I install wordpress in debian, everything running normally.
but i can not update plugins. how to install FTP in debian?

How to update wordpress plugin without FTP.

 

Anyway, you can use SFTP over SSH.

If you want to connect via SFTP, don't forget to write 'sftp://' before the IP address. If you want to use regular FTP, you can install a FTP server like proftpd:

apt-get update && apt-get install proftpd

thanks for reply
before I use lighttpd as a web server, now I moved to nginx and all smoothly without having to install proftpd.
