Hey dear readers,
this is my first tutorial here in the forum.
Since I had a problem with old-fashioned instructions themselves, I would like to enlighten you on just the new SteamCMD method.
Your system is freshly installed or even longer in use?
You put Ubuntu or Debian in newer versions or one can read the instructions and adapt if necessary?
Then here we go
Step 1. (root)
Installation of used packages.
apt-get install ia32-libs sudo wget tar
useradd -m -d /home/counterstrike counterstrike
Step 3. (root)
Change users! We do not need the root, is also safer.
su counterstrike -s /bin/bash
Step 4. (counterstrike)
Now we need to change the home directory of the new user, so we do not beschmuddeln the root directory AND do not get tens of errors.
Step 5. (counterstrike)
So here we go with the SteamCMD.
Step 6. (counterstrike)
The newly downloaded file, we extract fix.
tar xvfz steamcmd_linux.tar.gz
Step 7. (counterstrike)
If no errors occur, we delete the archive again.
rm -f steamcmd_linux.tar.gz
Step 8. (counterstrike)
So now we have to install our server.
./steamcmd +app_update 232330 validate +quit
Step 9. (counterstrike)
Yes it was in the sense already. From the directory.
cd "/home/counterstrike/Steam/SteamApps/common/Counter-Strike Source Dedicated Server"
Step 10. (counterstrike)
./srcds_run -game cstrike -console +map de_dust
So I hope you like my first tutorial and you can understand it.
