Most credit goes to dmmcintyre3 from FreeVPS.us. Links updated where needed.

Code:

yum install java-1.6.0-openjdk nano screen sudo
useradd minecraft
mkdir ~minecraft/minecraft
cd ~minecraft/minecraft

Current Recommended build is buggy, and only v1.3.2. We will go with the Developemental build, for 1.4.5.

Code:

wget "http://dl.bukkit.org/downloads/craftbukkit/get/01668_1.4.5-R0.3/craftbukkit-dev.jar" -O "craftbukkit-dev.jar"
chown -R minecraft:minecraft ./
nano -w ../start.sh;chmod 755 ../start.sh

In the screen that opens, paste:

Code:

cd ~minecraft/minecraft
sudo -u minecraft java -Xincgc -Xmx800m -jar craftbukkit-dev.jar

Change the 800 to 80% of your total VPS's ram.

To start the server, run:

Code:

screen ~minecraft/start.sh

If you want the server to start on boot, add this to the end of /etc/rc.local:

Code:

screen -S bukkit -dmS ~minecraft/start.sh

You can compile it yourself legally. Here is a little tutorial: http://www.spigotmc....ormation.42865/

On 128 MB of ram bukkit have some problems... but you can run http://mc-server.org/! It's  a fully working and mature Minecraft server in C++ whit plugin support and runs fine on HapHost.
