Original Thread By Shiva,

Minecraft Pocket Edition is a version of minecraft which can be played from your iphone or android phone. You can download the playing client from the app store respectively. Here i am writing a tutorial for setting up Minecraft Pocket Edition in Linux.

1) First of all there is some required dependencies for running a Pocketmine Multiplayer. For installing the dependencies

CentOS

Code:

yum -y install m4 automake autoconf make gcc libtool

Debian/Ubuntu

Code:

apt-get -f -y install && apt-get -y install m4 automake autoconf make gcc libtool

2) Pocketmine Multiplayer is the minecraft server which runs in both windows and linux. For downloading the pocketmine installer, we must execute this script.

Code:

wget http://downloads.sourceforge.net/project/pocketmine/linux/installer.sh

3) For installing pocketmine server, we must execute,

Code:

chmod +x ./installer.sh

./installer.sh

4) For starting the server, do execute this

Code:

./start.sh

Your server will start now and its all done

5) For configuring your minecraft pocket edition to connect to server,

1) Download Minecraft pocket edition app from respective app store
2) Launch the application and click play
3) Click on the edit to add a new world
4) Now click on new to add the new world
5) Click on the external to add your new server and then click add server
6) Your server will now appear in the world list
7) Click on the newly created server to connect and play
8) You will now be connected to your server for playing

You should change the download link for PocketMine:

wget http://downloads.sourceforge.net/project/pocketmine/linux/installer.sh

I changed it! :)

Can i make me to admin?

Of course, just type

op YourUsername

into the console, or specify your name while installing.

You can configure rcon in the server.properties and connect with an rcon client.

You can run the server 24/7 by letting it run it with 'screen' for example.

Install screen on Debian/Ubuntu:

sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get install screen

Running the server in a screen:

screen -S mcpe ./start.sh

You can get out of the screen with [CTRL] + [A] + [D], however your server will keep running.

Make sure to directly log in with mc, not through 'su'.

No, PuTTY is not a rcon console. You have to get an rcon client for that I guess.

If you want your minecraft server console you can use the command screen -r
