Original Thread By Aurimas,

1. In your VPS Console go to your home directory:

cd /home
2. Create a new folder called cod2:

mkdir cod2
3. Go to the folder you just created:

cd /home/cod2

4. Download dedicated server binary:

wget http://callofduty2.infinity-shell.net/downloads/cod2_lnxded_1[1].0a_11072005.tar

5. Extract the downloaded files to cod2 directory:

tar -xvf cod2_lnxded_1[1].0a_11072005.tar

6. You need to copy 'main' directory from your COD 2 DVD or CD to your server (all .iwd files must be copied, this should take quite a while)

7. You should make your cod 2 config file. You can use this config generator. Make a file called dedicated.cfg, copy the generated config there and place it in your servers 'main' directory.

8. Go to the root cod 2 server directory and start the server:

cd /home/cod2

./cod2_lnxded +set +exec dedicated.cfg

wget http://www.1337-server.net/cod2/cod2.part1.rar
wget http://www.1337-server.net/cod2/cod2.part2.rar

to unpack:

unrar x cod2.part1.rar

the second RAR file is automatically unpacked
