Since Apache (httpd) is automatically compatible with PHP, we just need to install PHP as well as Httpd (should be installed by default, it doesn't hurt to add a extra install command just incase it isn't)
Simply login to your VPS at SSH (PuTTy or some other SSH device) and type "
yum install httpd php" if that doesn't work, try "
yum install httpd php5"
I haven't checked which command works yet because I didn't get my VPS yet, but it usually is the first one.
Once done, you need to restart HTTPd (usually it's installed already so just to keep this simple we'll include this step)
service httpd restart
After httpd is restarted, you want to set it so it automatically starts up.
You can do this the advanced way (init.d for it to make sure to come up) or the easy way.
I'm going to show you the easy way.
Simply run the following command:
[chkconfig httpd on
Once that's run you can connect via sftp (always on it's basically FTP but slower and installed by default, I'll make a FTP tutorial later when I get the VPS.)
Simply enter your VPS's IP in a FTP client and your root details and for the port put in 22
Now navigate to
/var/www/htmland upload your files.
This was off the top of my head, I'll revise it later but this should be accurate.
